Reflections on Releasing the Year: Closure Without Perfection

As the calendar flips, reflection comes naturally. Looking back at the year—what worked, what didn’t, all those unspoken expectations. For folks with anxiety, this can easily slide into overanalyzing the “should haves.”

What if letting go didn’t mean everything has to feel neatly tied up? Just acknowledging the effort it took to navigate another full year, with compassion for who you were along the way.

Some find it helpful to gently note the small wins, the survivals, and what they’re ready to leave behind. No pressure for big revelations—just creating a bit of space.

It’s not about pretending it was all positive. It’s about lightening the load for whatever’s next.
